RESOLUTION NO, 88-5
RESOLUTION ELIMINATING INTEREST ON PREPAID ASSESSMENT
(GLENHILL RD, P-ST-87-1; JOHN SHELENDICH, PIN 34-30-23-34-0017)
WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City Council, on August 31, 1987,
approved and adopted the assessment roll for the improvement of Glenhill
(known as Improvement No. P-ST-87-1); and,
WHEREAS, the Notice of Assessment Hearing, as mailed to
affected property owners on August 20, 1987, and published on August 19,
1987, indicated no interest would be charged on assessments paid in full
prior to November 15, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, Ramsey County, in accordance with past practice,
certified assessments, with interest added, after thirty (30) days from
adoption of the assessment roll;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Arden
Hills, MN:
(1) It has been determined that John Shelendich, 1459
Glenhill Road, on 9/29/87 paid a portion of his assessment, i.e. $1,600 of
the total of $3,141,32, and attempted to pay, to Ramsey County, on
11/10/87, the balance of the assessment, in the amount of $1,541.32, prior
to the November 15, 1987 cut-off in accordance with the Notice of
Assessment Hearing; and
(2) It has been further determined that in order to void the
interest certified to this assessment, by the County, it is necessary that
the Council adopt a Resolution indicating their approval of the
elimination of interest;
(3) The Council hereby determines that it is desirous of
voiding the interest, in the amount of $165.00, on the assessment for this
improvement, against John Shelendich, 1459 Glenhill Road (Pin ID
34-30-23-34-0017), and hereby authorizes the Clerk Administrator to
forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Ramsey County,
Adopted by the Arden Hills Council this 25th day of January,
1988.
