RESOLUTION NO. 87-28
RESOLUTION REVISING WATER UTILITY RATES
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1987
WHEREAS, City water utility rates have not been increased
since July 1, 1984, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has reviewed the water
utility rate structure and determined that, since operating costs, as well
as the cost of water purchased from St. Paul, have increased over 15%
since that time, an increase in rates to consumers is necessary to enable
the utility to remain self-supporting, and;
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended that the
Council increase water rates to meet actual operating costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that effective July 1, 1987,
the water utility rates be revised as follows:

Water rates will be increased from $1.10 per thousand
gallons to $1.27 per thousand gallons.
Quarterly minimum charges will be ad;usted as follows:

The Standby rates will not be increased.
The City will continue its policy of having no minimum
charge for senior and totally disabled citizens.
