RESOLUTION NO. 97-50
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF PROPERTY IN
CONNECTION WITH FOURTEENTH STREET NE
ROAD AND UTILITY PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City has awarded a contract for the construction of Fourteenth Street NE
(herein the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, in order to construct the Project as designed, it will be necessary to acquire certain
property owned by Morris Communications (herein the "Morris Property"), as described on
Exhibit A attached; and
WHEREAS, to date, negotiations to acquire the property from Morris Communications have
been unsuccessful,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Arden Hills City Council hereby
authorizes the City Attorney to commence a condemnation proceeding to acquire the Morris
Communication property described on Exhibit A attached, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Attorney is hereby directed to continue to use all
reasonable efforts to acquire such property through negotiation provided that the negotiations do
not unreasonably delay the construction of the Project.
