HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-051 e - - CITY OF ARDEN HILLS RAMSEY COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 97-51 RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND CONFIRMING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR DELINQUENT UTILITIES WHEREAS, The amount to be specially assessed for DELlNOUENT UTILITIES has been duly calculated in accordance with the provisions of the City Code and Minnesota Statutes; and WHEREAS, Notices have been du1y mailed as required by law; and WHEREAS, Said proposed assessments have at all times since their filing been open for public inspections, and an opportunity has been given to all interested persons to present objections, if any, to the proposed assessments; and WHEREAS, There were no oral or written objections received. 1. The amounts so calculated and set forth in said notices are hereby levied against the respective parcels of land described therein, and 2. The proposed assessments are hereby adopted and confmned as special assessments for each of said parcels of land and the assessments together with an additional penalty of eight percent (8%) of the original unpaid amount, inclusive of any previous delinquency penalty, shall be a lien concurrent with general taxes upon such parcel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota, that the City Administrator be authorized and directed to transmit to the County Auditor a certified duplicate of the assessment roll to be extended upon the proper tax lists of the County, and the County Auditor shall collect said special assessments with taxes levied in 1997, payable in 1998. CITY OF ARDEN HILLS RAMSEY COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, a recent United States Census found that approximately 6,000 persons over the age of 18 in the communities of the Mounds View School District do not have a high school diploma; and WHEREAS, there is a continuing need for literacy, adult basic education, and English as a second language courses; and WHEREAS, it is important for the community to know that such programs are available through the Adult Basic Education program ofthe Mounds View School District; and WHEREAS, the Literacy Action Council of the District 621 Adult Basic Education program will host an open house "Celebration of Literacy" for the public on Saturday, November I, 1997 at the Ralph R. Reeder Community Education Center in New Brighton; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED THIS 27TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1997 by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota that November 1, 1997 is "Celebratio Literacy Day" in the City of Arden Hills.
