RESOLUTION NO. 95-11
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE APPLICATION FOR A
RAMSEY COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
(CDBG) BY NORTHWEST YOUTH AND F AMIL Y SERVICES (NYFS)
WHEREAS, NYFS has provided essential developmental services for the youth and families of
Arden Hills since 1976; and
WHEREAS, NYFS is finding more and more people in need of financial assistance in order to
make use ofNYFS' mental health programs; and
WHEREAS, the unique partnership between NYFS and its ten Ramsey County member cities
has resulted in the ability to provide an essential community service that none of
the cities could provide individually; and
WHEREAS, NYFS is in need of capital funding assistance in purchasing a permanent facility
in which to house these essential community services and also is in need of
. operating funds for the Counseling Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Arden Hills
enthusiastically supports the award ofa 1995 CDBG to NYFS.

Dear Terry:
I am writing to ask for your continued support of our application
to Ramsey County CDBG for funds with which to purchase a permanent
home for our agency, and for operating funds for our Counseling
Center.
.
As you know, we submitted two grants last year. We received $25,000
in operating funds for two initiatives within the counseling
center, and received $160,000 of the $500,000 we requested for
capital funds. At the time of the capital grant award, we were
invited to reapply in 1995 for additional capital funding. I plan
to add to this year's application the resolutions in support of our
CDBG application received from our joint powers cities in 1994. If
you would rather generate a new resolution of support, please let
me know. Otherwise, I believe that the 1994 resolutions are
sufficient.
We also plan to request operating funds for the Counseling Center.
