RESOLUTION NO. 95-25
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION TO THE COOPERATIVE TRAILS
GRANT PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE STATE OF MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF
NATURAL RESOURCES
WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is working to complete a trail system for the use and
enjoyment of the citizens of Arden Hills; and
WHEREAS, the approximate three-fourth of a mile segment of the proposed trail would run
from T.H. 96 south to Briarknoll Drive on an existing City trail easement; and
WHEREAS, the proposed trail would connect with the existing bituminous trail which extends
from Floral Park to Cummings Park; and
WHEREAS, this eight foot wide bituminus trail segment would provide a crucial link between
our existing trails and the proposed T.H. 96 trail; and
WHEREAS, the Cooperative Trail Grants Program is available through the State of Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources and could fund 50% of the construction cost for
accepted projects (up to $50,000); and
WHEREAS, if the City of Arden Hills should receive the Cooperative Trail Grant funds, the
City's portion of funding would come from the Park Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Arden Hills, Minnesota
that the City Council supports the aplication to the Cooperative Trail Grants Program for the
development of the above mentioned trail segment.
