RESOLUTION NO. 94-55
RESOLUTION REQUESTING EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION AMONG THE
CONTRACT CITIES FROM THE BENEFITS RECEIVED FROM LJVFD
ADDITIONAL REVENUES
WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has entered into a long tenn Agreement for fire protection
services with Lake Johanna Fire Department from July 31, 1987 until December
31, 1998; and
WHEREAS, when such agreement was drafted it was not contemplated that the Department
would obtain revenues for fire protection services beyond those obtained from the
contract cities of Arden Hills, North Oaks and Shoreview; and
WHEREAS, commencing in 1993, the Department has been awarded an annual renewable fire
protection services contract with AlliantTech Systems, Inc. and is currently
generating revenues from this contract; and
WHEREAS, the Department is presently planning to utilize a significant portion of the Alliant
contract revenues to assist in the capital funding of the reconstruction of Station
No.2 in North Oaks; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills,
Minnesota: that, in spite of the absence of specific Agreement language, the Lake Johanna
Volunteer Fire Department distribute the financial benefits of additional fire protection revenues
among the contract cities of Arden Hills, North Oaks and Shoreview on an equitable basis.
