RESOLUTION DELAYING ACTION ON IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WEST ROUND
LAKE ROAD (PHASE II) AND AUTHORIZATION FOR FUND CARRY OVER
WHEREAS, the City Council had adopted Resolution # 98-63 receiving the Preliminary Report
in the matter of improvements to West Round Lake Road (Phase II) at its October 13, 1998 City
Council Meeting, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council at that meeting elected to proceed with the project according to
rules of Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statutes governing Local Improvements, and;
WHEREAS, upon further review of costs associated witb the improvement of West Round Lake
Road (Phase II), and;
WHEREAS, the likelihood of further development of the Gateway Business District in the near
future exists, which may cause alterations to the plan proposed in the Preliminary Report.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills,
Minnesota that:
I)
The 1999 Street Improvement of West Round Lake Road (Phase II) be delayed until a
future date.
2) Funds procured to this point for the improvement of West Round Lake Road be carried
over to the time at which the improvement proceeds and be used along with any
additional funding available for improvements to West Round Lake Road (phase II).
3) Property owners abutting the project area of West Round Lake Road be notified of the
project delay.

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF WEST ROUND LAKE
ROAD, PHASE I.
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of West Round Lake
Road, Phase 1, in the City of Arden Hills, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to
law, and the attached bids were received complying with the advertisement; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder at
$720,560.05 for the base project, plus $42,165 for the landscaping alternate (B) and $32,000 for
the removal of dirt alternate (A), wbich reflects a total bid of $794,725.05.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA:

1.
The Mayor and City Administrator are hearby authorized and directed to enter
into contract with Forest Lake Contracting, Inc., as is approved by the City
Attorney for the completion of the improvement of West Round Lake Road, Phase
I, according to the approved plans and specifications designated by City
Resolution.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the
successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has
been signed.
