Mayor Bjorndahl stat�l that the meet9ng was cailed to discuss the roFe of the newiy
formed land davelopment commifitee. Unfortunately, the ChaTrman of the ['.a�mittee,
Robert 0. Ashbach was unable to atterM. The Committee was formed to work, ln an
unofficiaf capacTty, outside fhe scnpe ot the Ptanning Commisston and the Councll for
desirabls Yand development ln the Village of Arden HtIQs. The Mayar pointed to the
fact that due to posslbBe lack of commun(cation between VilYage offfcia9s and
developers, we have had some possible misundet'standings regarding development, zonirrc�,
ordinance enforcement etc. Fbpefully wTth the assistarxe of the new Committes re wtll
try to move fropn a possibie negatfve polnt of vlew to a positfon of positive aetion
on proposed land derreio�nt, b� tt residential, commereiai, IndustriaP, multipie
dwell Png or other°.
Land DeveYopment Committee Description
The La�d Qevelopment Committae wfll tre a steerFrrg type Cam�lttee a` Chamber of
Commerce. They wili have no officiaf capacity� no authordty artd the Village Cour�T1
wfll be in no way obtigated to apprave pVans proposed.
The follow(ng items summarize the determination ge�eraiRy agre�d upon by the group:

I. To seek out persons holding large tracts of undeveloped Isnd, discuss plans with '
them and try to encourage development dssirable to tbe Village.
2. To etlearly ezplaln what is meant by Vlllage or0irrances, exactfy what is required and
to convey to th�n that the Village Intends to entorce such ordlnances to retatn high
standards.
3. To sufficiently alter the plan proposed by the develop�� before lt Fs submitt�d to
the Planning Commission� if such originatl pe°oposal does not �it VflVage requirements.
4. To convince deveDopers that there Is now a shortage ( acco�ding to realtors) ot
avaiable good quality sirigle femily resBdence in this ar�.
5. If tract ot land is too targe Eor practical deveYopment by one concern,�•:e�
