COUNCIL OF VILLAGE OF ArDEN HILL,S
l�IONDAY, JANUAHY 4, 1960
The meeting was called to order at 7;10 p.m. by Mayor Ashbach.
ROLL CALL: Present; Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, Jones.
�bsent; Stromquist.
• Margaret Steinkraus was present to record tha minutes of the meeting.
Ricnard Jones presented his resignation as Justice o£ the Peace,
effective immediately, to the Council.
The minuY�es of the December 28, 1959, meeting were read and approved
as amended.
The new officers of the Village were sworn in by Attorney Courtney.
`rhey were; S�4ayor, Robert Ashbacn; Trustee, Richard Jones; Treas—
urer, Worth Read.
Don Carley, representing Milner W. Carley and Asaociates, village
road engineer, was present to apply for the job of surveying tne
northern part of the villa�;e ior a pr°oposed sanitary sewer system.
•Na,yor Q,snbach stated that it was his intention to appoint Trustee
Jones, Chairman of the Public Wos�ks Committee, and recommepded that he take
care of problems in that area.
Apparently there has been some difficulty on the maintenance of the
Lake Johanna skating rinks. The Council reco�-nen�led that the rinks
be plowed and scraped whenever necessary. Idatter referred to Jones.
Mayor asked Council nembers to have Comenittes recommendations to
him soon as he plans to make cosnmittee appointments for 1960 at tne
last meeting in January.
Jones said that he had received complaints about the Arden Hills si�n
on County Ftoad D and C]s veland. Tt was felt tnat the sign was too
close to the road and caused accidents. I�ayor said that the signs were xt
made by the County, placed by their safety engineer. I�atter referred
to Jones.
• Douglas Bart:�sny was sworn in as Justice of the Peace.
