Discusston of other financial matters in lamb's memo of 12-7-78 deforred to a later meettng. 6THER BUSINESS North Suburban Youth Service Bureau Councti discussed the North 5uburben Youth Service Bureau program . with,Chr9s Clausen, Director. Clausen reported that the school dts- trict has �ot, to date, Incfuded the NSYSB in (ts budget; does refer students to the Bureau. Clausen described the program as one of "fnter�entlon", rather than "prevention" or "correetton"; treats or counseis youth fo� acts tor xhich they would otherwise go to court; prtv�te, psycholaglsts and psychiatrists are an alternatfve to the program; prog�a�a is voluntary - no one ts committed to go to N5YS8; social vrorkers work wtth the NSYSB. Some concerns Nere expr�ssed by Councii re City support of the NSYSB service, over others whfch may also be beneficial to City resldents; suggested the program may be better subsidized as a judicial system item or poss(bty purchased privately; not sure It ts the Ylllage°s responsibifity; a possible duplication o# efforts by other agenciss; queried its effectiveness. Hanson referred Counci! to the Finance Committee's recommen.dat�on of approval of Vtllage parttclpatlon (n the program; noted that the Public Safety Commitfiee does not concur that the City shouid parti- cipate. Hanson moved, seconded by Wingert, that Councll authortze payment of E2,339.00 fio the Norfh Suburban Youth Serviee Bureau as Arden Hill's 1979 part►ctpation in the program. Crichton explafned the area coufd eventually be utilfzed for a pathaay, if Council deslred; prop�rties north and south of the Schall's property are no# developed to date, conse- quently, the property has no access at the present time. Council concurred that the approxtmate .8 acre strip would not be acceptable as satisfaction of Scholl's park dedfcation requirements; Crichton to pursue cash dedlcafion. B.
