Sect ion 1. Ordinance Number 1,8, known as the Zoning Ordinance, is
hereby amended to zone the following described pro~erty from HI to light
industrial. The entire'area so rezoned is described as follows, to-Wit:
. The East one-half (E~) of .the Southeast quarter (SEt) of Section
Twenty-two (22), Township ThirtY.~i(30) ,"Range Twenty Three (23) ,
except the part hex'etofore conveyed to the St. Croix Palls Minne-
sota Improvement Company and except or ,subject.to roads and
right of ways designed as County Hoad F, Lexington Avenue and
Highway 51, and except a square ten (10) acre tX'act in. the
Southeas t corner t/):ereof being Six Hundred Sixty (660) feet by
Six Hundred Sixty (660) feet having equal frontage on County Road
f and Lexington Avenue.
Section 2. 1'he Zoning Map of the Village of Arden Hills referred to
in the (l;foresaid Ordinance Number '18 shall not .be republished to show the
tfore~aid rezoning, but the Clerk shall appropriately mark. the Zoning Ma.p or
file in the Clerk's office for .the purpose of substantially indicating this
rezoning.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published in the official Village
newspaper, and shall be effective .from and after its passage and Pl1blication

ORDINANCE, TO PROVIDE FOR MUL-
TIPLE DWELLINGS
The Villa~e Council of the Village of
Arden Hills docs hereby ordain as fol.
lows, to-wit:
SECTION 1.
Paragraph (A) of Section 3 of Ordi.
nance Number 18, known as the
Zoning Ordinance, is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows:
(A) In order to regulate and re-
strict the location of trades, In-
dustries and other uses, and the 10--
cation of buildings desil{ned. erect-
ed, altered or occupied for specified
p\1l'poses; to regulate nnd limit the
height and size of buildings here-
after ereded or altered; to regulate
and determine the area of yards and
other open spaces. and to regulate
and limit the dellsity of popllllI.tion,
the Village of Arden HUls is here.
hy divided into districts of which
there shall be six, known ns R.E,
R-l, B-2 (re:::.idfmtial), R-3 (multiple
dwellinKs), C (commercial) and I
(industrial).
SECTION 2.
Section 4 of Ordinance Number 18,
known as the Zoning Ordinance, is
hel'eby amended to add the following
under "Permitted Uses:"
R-3: Multiple Dwellings
REGULATIONS FOR MULTIPLE
DWELLING DISTRICTS
In the mllltiple dwelling district,
unless otherwise provided in this
ordinance, no building or land shall
be ul>ed and no builrlinK shall here-
after be erected or structurally al-
tered except for uses permitted
with respect to oiher residential dis-
tricts as hereinheforeprovided, or
except for use as a multiple dwell-
ing, including pa~.ticularly, but with-
out limitation, double bungalows,
apartments and flats.
In addition to the zoning of the
property to R-3, no construction of
Buch multiple dwellings shall com-
mence until a building permit there~
for shall be granted by the Council.
Application for such a permit shall
be made to the COllncil. In consider-
ing such application the Council
shall J?roceed in accordance with t.he
provisiOn!' of Section 5 of this Ordi-
nance and may prescribe, as a con.
dition to the issuance of such per_
mit, suitable off street parking,
screen planting, and set-backs in ac-
cordance with the provisions of
Section 5 hereof, or such other con.
ditions ns the Council mny deem
proper in accordance with general
purposes of this Zoning Ordinance.
This Ordinance shall be in effect
from and after its passage and pub-
lication.
