Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) Kick-off

As part of the TCAAP redevelopment, the State Environmental Quality Board (EQB) requires an
environmental review be conducted to assess and address potential impacts associated with the
proposed development. The City, acting as the Responsible Governmental Unit (RGU) has
elected to conduct an Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) to comply with the EQB's
requirements and has hired SRF Consulting, Inc. to assist the City in preparing the AUAR.
Discussion
Nancy Frick of SRF will be presenting an overview ofthe AUAR process at the Council Work
Session: discussing the purpose, requirements, mitigation, and a detailed timeline. Nancy will
also provide copies of a completed AUAR as an example ofthe finished product.
In anticipation ofthe AUAR kick-off, staff distributed a memorandum to Council on May 8,
2007 summarizing the AUAR process and requirements. You may wish to bring that memo and
attachments with you to the work session for reference.
