Recognizing Jim Perron for Being Named the 2006 Arden Hills Employee of the
Year, Public Works Maintenance Work Joe Mooney for Twenty-Years of
Service to the City, and Jackie Freppert for Five of Years of Service to the City.

On January 11th, the City of Arden Hills held its second annual employee recognition luncheon.
At the employee recognition luncheon the following awards and honors were given to City of
Arden Hills staff members:
. Public Works Superintendent Jim Perron was named the City of Arden Hills 2006
Employee ofthe Year;
. Public Works Maintenance Work Joe Mooney was recognized for his twenty years of
Service to the City;
. Office Support Specalist Jackie Freppert was recognized for her five years of Service to
the City.
City Staff Recommendation-

STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING JIM PERRON FOR BEING NAMED THE 2006
EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR, JOE MOONEY FOR HIS TWENTY YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, AND JACKIE FREPPERT FOR
HER FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to recognize and acknowledge employees for
their fine service and dedication to the residents of Arden Hills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of
Arden Hills hereby recognizes and thanks:
· Public Works Superintendent, Jim Perron for being named the
2006 Employee of the Year;
· Public Works Department Employee, Joe Mooney for his Twenty
Years of Service to the City of Arden Hills;

Public Improvement Hearing for the 2007 Pavement Management
Program
BACKGROUND
On January 8, 2007, the City Council received the feasibility report for the 2007 PMP
Improvement Project and ordered the public hearing. Prior to opening the hearing, staff will
present general information regarding construction, standards, and assessments that apply for this
project.
The City's official newspaper informed us of a publication error, where the notice for the public
hearing was not published in the Shoreview Bulletin on January 17, 2007, as requested by the
City. In order to meet Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, notice of the public hearing must be
posted twice prior to the meeting. Since residents have already been notified of the January 29,
2007 meeting, staff is recommending opening the public hearing on January 29 to begin taking
comments. The public hearing should then be continued it to the February ]2,2007 Regular City
Council Meeting, so that the proper notice may occur. Council would then take official action on
the project at the February ]2 meeting.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION
Staff recommends that Council open the Public Improvement Hearing for comment and continue
the hearing to the February ]2,2007 Regular Council Meeting.
