On March 26'\ 2007, the City Council approved the contract for Building Restoration to reclad
the City Hall chimney for an amount of$ll9,168.
Previously, the City paid Building Restoration $29,706.50 for Phase 1 ofthe construction.
The contractor has completed the construction project and the work has been accepted by City
staff and our project engineers, Wiss, Janey, Elstner.
The contractor has requested $67,061.92 per pay application # 2.
The total cost of the project Building Restoration has billed the City is $101,861.50.
This will leave a balance due of$5,093.08. (5% for retainage)
Attached to this memorandum is pay application #2, a final invoice, and WJE's approval letter.
Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of pay application #2 of$67,061.92

Dear Mr. Scherbel:
We have reviewed BRC's Application and Certificate for Payment No.2 (dated 7/25/07) and Final
Invoice (dated 7/25/07). They were received by WJE on 29 May 2007. Our comments are as follows:
I. All work has been completed at the project. To the best of our knowledge, the Work is in
accordance with the Contract Documents.
2. It is our belief that the Contractor is entitled to payment for the amount indicated on the attached
and we recommend payment. Total payment due BRC is $72,155.00.
3. A final lien waiver is required from BRC as well as for any material suppliers over $5000 prior to
delivery of final payment to BRC.
WJE's review of the Application and Certificate for Payment is subject to the limitations listed in Section
4.2.2 of AlA Document A20l referenced in Section 00700 in the Project Manual.
One signed copy of the Application and Certificate for Payment submitted by BRC is enclosed for your
payment. I have also enclosed the following:
I. BRC's recap sheet and daily field logs that accompanied their payment application.
2. Copy of recent email correspondence concerning additional information required by WJE for
processing this final payment application.
