SUBJECT: 2008 Seasonal and Parks and Recreation Part-Time Pay Scale
BACKGROUND
The City Council has approved the pay scale for all City employees. The Council needs to
approve the attached 2008 Seasonal and Parks and Recreation Part-Time Pay Scale as presented,
effective January 1, 2008. Pay rates for seasonal employees are periodically updated by
surveying surrounding communities. The former Assistant City Administrator and Michelle
Olson, Parks and Recreation Manager evaluated these rates last spring and adjusted the pay
scales at that time.
The 2007 Seasonal and Parks and Recreation Part-Time Pay Scale is attached for reference.
CITY STAFF RECOMMENDA nON
Staffrecommends approval of the attached 2008 Seasonal and Parks and Recreation Part-Time
Pay Scale as presented, effective January 1,2008.

Recreation Programmer:
Program Instructor I: Soccer/pre-soccer; basketball; sports hourlPee Wee sports; pre-tball;

Program Instructor ill: Specialty crafts/ceramics; drawing; special event classes, ice skating
instructor, hocke skills instructor.
Youth UmpireslReferees: Softball Umpire per game / Soccer referee per game.

Dance $3.50 per participant per class
Acting $40.00 per class
Hunter Education Programs Firearm Safety - $7.50 per participant
Program Instructor III, Golf $60.00 per participant (4 lessons)
Program Instructor III, Track Coach Based on participant count.
Adult Softball Umpires $24.00 per game
Park Attendants: Adult Softball; Soccer.
