COMI-IISSION, BY ENLARGING THE COMPO-
SITION THERF:OF AND PROVIDING SPEC-
IFIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR REGL?LAR A:'VD

The Village Council of the Village of Arden Hills does
liereby ordiin as rollows:
Section l. Amendment of Ordinance No. 105.
Section 4 of Ordinance 105, relating to the Fiuman Rights
Conunission, is hereby amended in its entiretv to reaci as fol-
lows:
Section 4. Cam osition of Commission. The Commission
shall cons'ist of ten 10) regular members to be appointed
by Mayor and with the advice and consent of the Council.
Additional ad hcc members, req uested hy the Cha.i.rman of
the Commission for special projects, may also be appoint-
ed to serve thereon by the Mayor and wit:a the advice and
consent of the Council. Both reqalar and ad. hoc mem-
bers of the Commission sliall be ar~- _)ointed with due re-
qard to their fitness for the eE-"Jcient dispatch of the
functions, powers arid duties v(-st.~ 't in and imposed upon
the Commission.
At least eight (8) of the reqular r;ler-bers af the Commis-
sion shall be a rlinimum of tu:enty-one (21) years of
age and each such adult mem}-~er, after the original_ ap-
pointments, shall be appointed `or a term of three (3)
years, except that any perscn appointec, to fill a vacanc:y
occurring prior to the exPirE.tior, of the term for w'riic}-i
his predecessor was appointed shall be appointed onll
for the remainder of such term. The .i-egular members of the
Commission who are less than twenty-one (21) vears of
age shall be appointed for one (1) year terms. Upon t};e

which shall be deemed to have expi.red at the end of the
calendar year in which th` appointment is made.

The first Comriission shall consist of two (2) regular
members appointed for a term of three (3) years, two
(2) regular menbers for a tenn of two (2) years, and
two (2) regular members for a term of one (1) year.
Both regular rienbers and ad hoc members of the Com-
mission shall serve with out compensation and may be
removed from office for cause by the Mayor.
Section 2. kepeal of Ordinance No. 115.
Ordinance No. 115, which amended Section 4 of Ordinance
105 to enlarge ±_he composition of the Human Rights Commission
and provided specific qualifications for the members thereof
and which waF; passed by the Council on the 30th day of June,
1969, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
Secti.on 3. Effective Date.
This 0~dinance shall be in effect from and af ter its
passage and publication.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 105,
RELATING TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION,
-BY ENLARGING THE COMPOSITION THEREOF
AND PROVIDING SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR
REGULAR AND AD HOC MEMBERS THEREOF;
ANp REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 115. -
The V illage Council of the Village of Arden Hills does
hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Amentlment of Ordinance No. 105. -
Sectton 4 of Ordinance 105, relating ro the Human
Righis Commission, is hereby amendetl in its entirety to
read as follows:
Section 4. Composition of Commi55ion. The Com-
mission shall consist of ten (10) regular members to be
appointed by Mayor and MTh the advice and consent of
the Council. Additional ad hoc members, requested by
the Chairman of the Commission for special projecis,
may also be appointed To serve Thereon by the Mayor
and with the advice and consent of the Council. Bolh
regular and ad hoc members of the Commi55ion shall be
, appointed wiYh tlue regard to iheir fitness for the ef-
ficient aispatch of the tunctions, powers and duties "
vested in and imposed upon the Commission.
At least eight .(8) of the regular members of the
Commission shall be a minimum of iwenTy-one (21)
years of age and each such adult member, after the
original appoinTmenTS, shall be appointed for a Term of
three (3) years, except That any person appointed To fill
a vacancy occurring prior to the expiration of the term
for which his predecessor was appointed shall be ap-
pointed only for the remainder of such term. The
regular members of the Commission who are less Than
twenty-one (21) years of age shall be appoinTed fOr one
(ll year ferms. Upon the expiration of his term of office,
a regular member shall continue t0 serve until his
successor is appoinTed and shall have qualified. To
insure regulariTy in the composition of the Commission,
the first year of any term of a regular member shall be
deemed to end aT the expiraTion of the calendar year in
which the appoinimenT is made.

ferms, which shall be deemed to have expired af the end
of the calendar year in which the appoiniment is made.

for the members ihereof antl which was passed by the
Council on the 301h day of June, 1969, i5 hereby repealed
in its entirety.
Section 3. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall be in effect from and after iTs
passage and publication. -
