AN ORDINANCE AMFrNDING OftDIN-
ANCE NO. 103, RELATING TO THE
MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM, TO
• REVI$E THE DELINQUENCY PENAL-
TIES AND REVISE THE PROCEDURE
FOR HANDLING WATER METER •
DEPOSITS.
The Village Couneil af the Village of
Arden Hilla dcea hereby ordain as fo]- '
lows :
Section 1. Revision of Delin9nency
Charges. Sectian 3 of Ordinance No.
103, relating to the munioipal water ays-
, tem of Arden Hills and particularly to
collectian of water charges therefar,
is hereby amended by striking Para-
graphs 3.8 and 3.4 thereof and aubsti-
tuting in their place the follmving:
3.3 Payment of Charges. Statements
for tata] water charges for the preFeding - quarterly period shall be maile@ by the - Clerk to each Cuatomer on or before
the 6th day of January, April, July and
Octaber of each year. Such statements
sha11 be due on the last day of the `
month following the quarterly pesiod •
covered by such sta.tement. Any prepay- ment or overpayment of eharges may be
retained by the Village and applied on
subsequent quarterly statements. -
3.4 Collection of Delinquent Charges.
Any amounts due for water charges herr
under may be col]eeted in a civi] action
brought far that purAOSe in the name of
the Village; or the Village C7erk-Admin-
istrator, upon direction thereon by the
Council, may certify to the County Audi-
tor the amount due, together with the
legal descaip2ion' af the premisea served,
and the Clerk-Administrator in so certi-
fying shall add to sueh amount as a seP-
arate item --8 percent thereof as a de-
linquency penalty. The County Auditor
shall thereupon enter such amount as
part of the tax levied on said preznisea -
to be callected during the ensuing yea.r. -
Section 2. Water Meter Deposits. Sec-
tion 4 of Ordinance No. 103, relating tn - the municipa2 water aystem of Arden FIills and particularly to water metera, is hexeby amended to atrike the third
paragraph of Paragraph 4.1 (a) thereof

The security depoait shall be kept
by the Clerk as a credit against the
proTerty upon which the meter is .
instal7ed, without referewce to the own-
, ership af the property. The deposit
sha11 be refunded to the property ownr
er in the event municipal water serv- . , ice to the property is discontinued and -
the service gipe is diseannected at the
stop box and the meter ia removed.

Section S. Effective Date. This ordin-
ance ahall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publica-
tion.

ANCE NO. 114, RELATING TO RATFS
AND CHARGES FOR THE MUNIGIPAL
SANITARY SEWDR SYSTEM, BY
CHANGING THE DEZINQUENCY PRO-
CEDURE.
The Village Council aF the Village of
Ardzn Silla doea hereby ordain as fol-
1owa:
Section 1. Reviaion of Delin9aent
Cherges. Ordinance No. 114, which
amends Ordinance No. 49 by inaerting
therein a sehedule of rates and charges
deaignated as Seetian il of Ordinanee
No. 49, is hereby amended by atriking
therefrom the secund Faragraph of Sec-
, tion 11 (8) thereof, striking therefrom
the entire Paragraph (C) af said $ec-
tion 11, snd substituting a new Para-
graph (C) as follawa:
_ (C) Any amounts payable hereunder
may be collected in an action bmught
- - for that purpoee in the name of the
ViIDsge; or the Village Clerk-Adviin-
iatratar, upon directian thereon by
the Council, may certify to the County
Auditar the amountv due, together
with the legal description of -the
premises served, and the Govnty Au-
ditar shall thereupan inolude such
amaunt in the bax levy on ssid prem-
isee, and oollect the same with the
taxea due for the ensuing year.
In eertifying to the County Auditor
as seL forth herein the Clerck shall add
to the charges then due and payable
as a separate item 8 per cent of eaid
amount as a delinquency penalty, which
amaunt aha11 be included in the tax
- - levy by the Counky Audibor as afore- '
said.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ardin-
ance shal.l be in full force and effect
from aud after its passage and publica-
tion.
