SECTION le From and after the effective date of this ordi-
nance- s a e unlawful for any persons firm or corpcration to

SECTION 3. In the event an,y person, firm or corporation de- _
sires o se or cornmence a field fire between the haurs of 6:00 p.ma
and 6:00 asrn„, sueh persons shall first notify one of the police
officers of the Village of Arden Hills, state the time and the ioea-
tion of the setting of the fire, and request that a xnember of the
police force be pre sent at that time and place e In the event a
police officer ad~ises the applicant that he wi11 be present at
sueh tim q then the fire may be set after reasonable precautions
have been taken b.y the property owrier or his agents or employses
ta guard against t,he spreading of the f ire beyond the area in-
tended to be burnedQ
One of the police of ficers of the Village,
after having recei-ved such a notice g shall attend at the time and
p2ace of the fire 4 In the event such o#'ficer determines that the
burning is out of eontro7.., or that there is a reasonable pro-
babi:lity of the fire spreading beyand the area intended to be
burned, he shal1 promptly notify the fire departmente

this or inance sha11 be guilty of a misdemeanor and upan conviction
thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100a00 or irn-
prisonment not exceeding 90 dayse

~ ORDINANCE NO. 8
An Ordinance Relating to Grasa
and Brush Fires
Section 1.
From and after the effective date
of thia ordinance it ahall be unlaw-
fu] for any person, firm or corpora-
tion to burn off any land area bY
setting on fire or causing to be set
afire thereon any brush, weeds, stumpa.
dry grass, stubble, swamp growth or
any other growing and combustible
material within the limits of the Vil-
Iage of Arden Hills, without having _
first complied with the provisiona of
this ordinance.
Section 2.
The firea particularly described in
Section 1 hereof are being classified
and referred to herein as field firea.
No such fires shall be aet or com-
menced on Monday through Friday,
between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and
6:00 p.m., nor on Saturdays and Sun-
days between the hours of 6:00 a.m.
and 12 :00 Noon : provided however,
that on legal holidays, regardlesa of
the day of the week that they may
fall upon, such firea may be set or
commenced at any time excepk between
6:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon. During the
hours other than the prohibited per-
ioda as hereinbefore set forth, no auch
firea shall be set or commenced ex-
cept after the notice as hereinafter
aet forth.
Section 3.
In the event any person, firm or
corporation desires to set or com-
mence a field fire between the hours
of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 s.m., such per-
sona shall firat notify one of the
police officers of the Village of Arden
Hills, state the time and the location
af the setting of the fire, and requeat
that a member of he police force be
present at that time and place. In the
event a police officer advises the ap-
plicant that he will be present at such
time, then the fire may be set after
reasonable precautions have been tak-
en by the property owner or his agents
or employeea to guard againat the
spreading of the fire beyond the area
intended to be burned.
One of the police officers of the
Village, after having received such a
notice, shall attend at the time and
place of the fire. In the event auch
officer determines that the burning
is out of control, or that there ia a
reasonable probability of the fire
epreading beyond the area intended
to be burned, he ahall promptly notify
the fire department.
Section 4.
Any person who shall violate any
provision of this ordinance ahall be
guilty of a miademeanor and upon
conviction thereof ahall be punished
by a fine not exceeding $100.00 or
imprisonment not exceeding 90 days.
Section 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its nassage
and legal publication.
