AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 11, RELATING
TO THE REGISTRATION, IDENTIFICATION AND KEEPING
OF DOGS, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED, BY CFIANGING THE
REGISTRATION FEE REQUIRED THEREIN, REMOVIIVG THE
REQUIREMENT OF VETERINARIAN'S CERTIFICATE FOR
SPAYED DOGS, SUBSTITUTING "CITY" FOR "VILLAGE"
THROUGHOUT, AND INCREASING PENALTIES PROVIDED
THEREIN.
The City Council of Arden Hills ordains:
Section l. Amendment of Section 1 of Ord. No. 11, as
Amended by Section 1 of Ord. No. 67, by Changing the Registra-
tion Fee Provided Therein and by Removing Requirement of
Veterinarian s Certificate for S ayed Dogs. Section 1 of
Ord. No. 11, entitled "An Ordinance to Provide for ttie Registra-
tion, Identification and Keeping of Dogs" and adopted bv the
Council on the 27th day of June, 1955, as amended by Section 1
of Ord. No. 67, entitled "Rn Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 11,
Relating to the Registration, Identification and Keeping of Dogs,
by Changing tlie License Fee, the Required Term of Registration,
the Fee for Substitute Dog Tags and the Fee for Y.ennel Permits"
and aaopted by the Council on the 26th day of November, 1962, is
here:)y further amended so as to delete the amendatory language
contained in said Section 1 of Ord. No. 67 and to read in its
entirety as follows:
SECTTON 1. From and after the passa_qe of
this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for
any person to own or harbor any dog within
the corporate limits of the City of Arden
Hills for more than two (2) weeks without
registering such dog in the manner herein--
after provided, and any person who desires
to maintain or preserve any right or
property in such dog shall register the dog
so owned or harbored. The registration fee
shall be the sum of $5.00 for eacn cioq
registered. Notwithstanding the foregoing,
neither a registration fee nor a li:cense
shal.l be required for a dog confined in a
lcennel which is licensed in accordance with
the provisions of this Ordinance.

Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 11, Relating to the Reqistrati.on,
Identification and Keeping of Dogs", is hereby amended in its
entirety to read as follows:
SECTION 14. Any person or persons guilty of
violating any provision of this Ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction tlzereof shall be punished by a
fine not to exceed Three Hundred and no/I00
Dollars ($300.00) or by imprisonment in the
county jail for a period not to exceed ninety
(90) days, or by both.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance siiail taFce

PREVIOUSLY AMENDED, BY CHANGING THE
REGISTRATION FEE REQUIRED THEREIN,
REMOVING THE REQUIREMENT OF
VETERINARIAN'S CERTIFICATE FOR SPAYED
DOGS, SUBSTITUTING "CITY" FOR "VILLAGE"
THROUGHOUT, AND INCREASING PENALTIES PROVIDED THEREIN.
The CiTy Council of Arden Hills ordains:
SeNion 1. Amentlment of Section 1 of Ord. No. 11, as
Amended by Section 1 of Ord. No. 67, by Changing the
Regisfration Fee Provitled Therein and by Removing
Requirement of Veterinarian's Certificate for Spayed
Dogs. Section 1 of Ord. No. 11, entitletl "An Ordinance to
Provide for the Registration, Identitication and Keeping
of Dogs" and adopted by the Council on the 27ih day of
June, 1955, as amended by Section 1, of Ord. No. 67,
entitled "An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 11,
Relating tothe Regisiration, IdenTification and Keeping
of Dogs, by Changing the License Fee, the Required
Term of Registretion, the Fee for SubstfTUte Dog Tags
and the Fee for Kennel Permits" and adopted by the
Council on the 26ih day of NovembeY, 1962, is hereby
furiher amended so as to delete the amendatory
language contained in said Section 1 of Ord. No. 67 and
To read in its entirety as follows:
SECTION 1. From and affer the passage of ihis Or-
dinance, iT shall be unlawful for any person to Own or
harbor any dog within the wrporate limits of the City of
Arden Hills for more than Two (2) weeks withouT
registering such tlog in the manner hereinafter
provided, and any person who desires to maintain or
preserve anyright or property in such dog shall register
the dog so owned or harbored. The regisiraTion fee shall
be the sum of $5.00 for each dog registered. Not-
wiihsianding the foregoing, neither a regisTration fee
nor a license shall be required for a tlog confined in a
- kennel which is licensed in accordance wiTh the
provisions of This Ordinance.
Section 2. Amendment of Ortlinance No. 11, as
amended, by Substituting "City" for "Village"
Wherever the Same Appears. Wherever the word
"Village" appears in Ord. No. 11, as amended, said
word shall be cfeleted and the word "City" shall be
substituTed therefor.
SecTion 3, Amendment of Section 14 oi Ordinance No.
11, as Amentled and Renumbered by Section 1 of Ord.
No. 17, by Increasing the- Penalties Provided Therein.
Section 14 of Ord. No. 11, as amended and renumbered
by SecTion 1 of Ord. No. 17, entitled "An Ordinance
Amending Ordinance No. 11, Relating To the
RegisTration, IdentificaTion and Keeping of Dogs", is
hereby amended in its entirety to reatl as follows:
SECTION 14. Any person or persons guilty of violating
any provision of ihis Ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
punisheci by a fine noY to exceed Three Hundred and no-
100 Dollars (8300.00) or by imprisonment in the counTy

both.
Section 4. Effedive Date. Thts Ortlinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after January 1, 1975.
