INSTALLATION OF SUMP PUbiP SYSTEMS
The City Council of the City of Arden Hills hereby ordains:
5ection 1. Amendment to Section 28-112(a) of Arden Hills
Code. Section 28-112 a of the Arden Hills Code is hereby
amended by deleting the phrase "Paragraphs (a) and (b)" in the
fourth line thereof and substituting in the place thereof the
phrase "Subsections (b) and (c)".
' Section 2. Amendment to Division 3 of Article III of Chapter
28 of the Arden Hills Code. Division 3 of Article III of Chapter
28 of the Arden Hills Code is hereby amended by adding thereto a
new Section 28-114 which is entitled and reads as follows:
"Sec. 28-114. Restrictions on installation of sump
pump system; necessitv of obtaining
ep rmit•
Any person installing a su}~surface drainage system in
connection with the construction of a building shaYl
include as part of such system a sump pump which has a
permanent discharge connection ta the exterior of the
building. Any person installing a sump pump system in
an existing building shall also provide such system
with a permanent discharge connectian to the exterior
of the building. No person shall install a subsurface
drainage system in connection with new construction or
the modification of an existing building without having
first obtained a permit to do so from the council."
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be
effective from and after its passage and publication.

November, 1983.
