ORDINANCE NO.1B0
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 140
AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 83, THE PER-
SONNEL ORDINANCE, TO CONFORM THE
HOLIDAVS TO STATE LAW.
The Council of ihe City of Arden Hills ordains:
Section 1. Repeal of Ordinance No. 140. Ordinance No.
140, entiTled "An Ordinance Amending Ord. No. 83, The
Personnel Ordinance, fo Conform The Holidays to StaTe
Law," passed by ihe Arden Hills Council on ihe BTh day
of February, 1971, is hereby repealed in its enTirety.
Section 2. Amendment of Ordinance No. 83, SecTion 3,
Subdivision F., Regarding Holidays. 7he Council notes
That ihe official holitlays in MinnesoTa have been
changed by Chapter 88 of Laws 7974 (Second Regular
Session), amending MinnesoTa StatuTes 1971, Section
645.44, Subdivision 5. Accordingly, to conform To said
amendment, the firsT paragraph of Subdivision F. of SecTion 3 of Ord. No. 83, the Personnel Ordinance,
- relating To holidays, is hereby amended To read as
follows:
'
"Subtlivision F. Holidays. The following Shall be /14WL
official holidays for all employees oi ihe City of Arden ~
Hills subiect to this Ordinance: New Year's Day,
January l; Washington's and Lincoln's Birthday, fhe r.~.. ~ ihird Monday in February; Memorial Day, ihe last

Monday in May; Independence Day, July 4; Labor Day, ,
The first Monday in SepTember; ChrisTopher Columbus ~
Day, ihe second Monday in October; Veterans Day, -
November 11; 7hanksgiving Day, ihe fourth Thursday

in November; and ChrisTmas Day, December 25; E
provided,when New Year's Day, January,l; or In-
dependence Day, July 4; or Veterans Day, November
11; or Chrisimas Day, December 25; falls on Sunday, -
ihe following day shall be a holiday and, provided, when r
- New Year's Day, January 1; or Independence Day, July , t? ~`e£
4; or Veterans Day, Nc~vember 11; or Chris}mas Day,
December 25; falls on SaTUrday, the preceding day shall f' , r~. ~~~^~•^z
be a holiday. Employees shall observe ihe days herein
designaTed as official holidays antl receive com- fp
pensation as though fhey had worked on those tlays, but
essenTial operaTions shall be mainiained by such
skeleton crews as ihe Clerk-AdministraTOr deems ~ f
necessary. An employee working on a holiday shall
receive his regular pay in addiTion to The holiday
compensaTion herein given."
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take ~
eHect and be in force trom and after its passage and
publication.
Passed by TheCiTy Council of Arden Hills this 28th day
of October, 1974.
