TCAAP Update
At the June 23 work session, the Council reviewed the schedule of key topics to be addressed
regarding TCAAP in the coming months. The Council also had a good discussion about the next steps in
fleshing out the development concept plan.
On Thursday, June 26, I took a tour of the TCAAP property with Mike Fix of the Army and Gen
McGilton of Ryan. Mike provided a lot of information regarding the history of the site, as well as on-
going efforts by the Army regarding improvements to the site. The Army has created a new wetland in a
portion of the area planned to be the wildlife corridor. Two characteristics of the site stood out for me.
One was how large the site is. The other was that, along both the eastern and northern boundaries of the
site, there are beautiful, natural areas that are outstanding amenities for the site.
