I'd like to take off my reporter hat and serve my own city in a volunteer capacity. I hope you wilt consider alJowing me to serve on your Communications Committee if you are in need of members - now or any time in the future. I am reporter for Press Publications, which has six area newspapers covering the northeastern suburbs. I predominately write for the White Bear Press and the Vadnais Heights Press. I cover a variety of local government issues for the city of Vadnais Heights, as well as occasionally for White Bear lake, Gem lake and Hugo. Through those experiences, I have developed an in-depth understanding of city budgets, tax increment financing and other complex topics for which I am able to concisety explain to the average citizen. I also work with officials in those communities to promote events and highlight their other positive happenings. Via my professional or educational experience - I have a bachelor1s degree in communications - I have experience in most all communication medium, including writing, public speaking, graphic design, copy editing and video production. I am a native of the North Metro (I grew up in Vadnais Heights and Shoreview and since have lived in White Bear lake and Little Canada). I have lived in Arden Hills for a little more than a year and hope to stay for many years to come. Albeit I beHeve communications to my greatest strength, r also would be willing to volunteer in any other capacity for which there is a need and you believe I could be of service.
