At a work session in May, Ehlers, the City's financial consultant, presented information
regarding alternatives for restructuring the water and sewer rates, and for adjusting the rates to
better match the projected level of expenditures. The Council indicated a preference for a usage-
based rate structure, and directed that additional information be provided regarding a usage-
based rate structure. Ehlers has prepared information regarding a usage-based rate structure
based on updated expenditure projections. Ehlers will present this information at the work
seSSIon.
Council Direction Requested
Staff is requesting direction from the Council regarding two items.
. A preferred rate structure option.
. Adjustments to the utility rates.
