SUBJECT: Adoption of the 2009 City Contribution for Employee Benefits
Backeround:
Each year in December, the CitY sets the monthly contribution rate for employee benefits for the next
year.
Discussion:
As part of the annual budget and levy adoption process, the Council is also asked to approve the 2009
City contribution for employee benefits. The City, contribution rate is currently set by increasing the
current contribution by 50% of the increase in premiums for the next year. The employee contribution
rate of $672 per month per employee for 2009 has been calculated into the proposed 2009 budget as
discussed at previous Council worksessions.
Recommended Action:
Motion to adopt Resolution 2008-055, a Resolution setting the City Contribution to Employee Monthly
Benefits at the amount of $672 per month, per employee (provided they participate in the HSA plan or
single coverage if they participate in the Co-Pay Plan).

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2009 CITY CONTRIBUTION TO
EMPLOYEE MONTHLY BENEFITS
WHERE AS, that the City Council of Arden Hills .does hereby approve the contribution
of six hundred seventy-two dollars ($672.00) per month, per employee toward unit employees
benefits;
WHERE AS, that the City Council of Arden Hills does hereby approve the contribution
of SiK hundred seventy-two dollars ($672.00) per month, per employee toward non-bargaining
unit eluployees benefits provided they participate in the City's HSA plan;
WHERE AS, that the City Council of Arden Hills does hereby approve Lhe contribution
of 100% single coverage or six hundred seventy-two dollars ($672.00) per month, per employee
toward non-bargaining unit employees ben~fits provided they participate in the City's Co-Pay
plan;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Arden Hills does hereby
approve the contribution toward bargaining and non-bargaining unit employees benefits as stated
above.
