SUBJECT:
2009 Tree Removal and Related Services Contract Renewal
BACKGROUND
On December 1, 2006; City staff publicly opened and accepted bid proposals from tree removal
contractors for the City's 2007 Tree Removal and Related Services Contract. As part of this
contract the City had the option of extending the contract for 2008 with no added costs and up to
a five percent increase each year in 2009 and 2010. At the December 11, 2006 City Council
meeting, the City Council awarded the 2007 contract to Precision Landscape and Tree. At the
January 14, 2008 City Council meeting the Tree Removal and Related Services Contract was
extended for 2008. Precision Landscape and Tree has very responsive to the needs of the City
the past two years. Precision Landscape and Tree is willing to maintain their 2007 and 2008
prices for 2009.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION
Staff is recommending that the City Council extend the Tree Removal and Related Services
Contract with Precision Landscape and Tree for the January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009 time
period.
