RESOLUTION NO. 2009-005
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK:
MAY 17-23, 2008
WHEREAS, public works services provided in our cortlmunity are an integral part of our
citizens everyday lives; and
WHEREAS, the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient
operations of public works systems and programs such as water, sewers, streets and highways, and
public buildings; and
WHEREAS, the health, safety and comfort of this community greatly depend on these
facilities and services; and
WHEREAS, the efficiency of the qualified and dedicated personnel who staff the Public
Works Department are materially influenced by the people's attitude and understanding of the
importance of the work they perform.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden
Hills, Minnesota that the City proclaims the week of May 17th to 23rd as "National Public Works
Week" in the City of Arden Hills. All citizens and civic organizations are called upon to
recognize the contributions which the Public Works Department makes every day
to our health, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS THIS 27th
DAY OF APRIL, 2009.

Recognizing National Public Works Week: May 17-23, 2009
BACKGROUND
National Public Works Week is May 1 ih to May 23rd. This is an opportunity to recognize the
services provided by our Public Works Department in protecting and repairing our public works
systems such as water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, street, park, and public buildings on a
routine basis. The daily services and actions provided by the Arden Hills Public Works
Department help to enhance and protect the health, safety, comfort, and quality of life
experienced by our residents.
The following is a list of the City's Public Works Department Employees and their year's of
service to the City:
