Memo from Employee Recognition Committee Funding Source: NA ~ MEMORANDUM DATE: April 27, 2009 TO: Mayor and City Council Ron Moorse, City Administrator FROM: Employee Recognition Committee SUBJECT: 2008 Employee of the Year BACKGROUND The Employee Recognition Committee, consisting of Sonja Klingberg, Becky Brazys, Greg Hoag, Pete Saxe, Michelle Olson and Sherri Eisenbraun, prepared and circulated ballots to each City employee to give them the opportunity to nominate a City employee for Employee of the Year. Each nomination had to be related to Exceptional Performance and Significant Accomplishment. On April 16, 2009, the Employee Recognition Committee met and reviewed the submitted nominations. Based on the number of votes and the criteria submitted, the Committee agreed that Joe Rueb be named the 2008 Employee of the Year. He is an exceptional employee who exemplifies a consistent high level of dependability, reliability, responsibility and integrity. He has been an extremely vital part of the success that the Finance department has seen. He was an important part of the success for revamping the budget process and system files. He has a positive attitude and always goes out of his way to provide requested information. He is extremely well organized and handles all stressful situations professionally. He represents a very positive image for the City and always demonstrates good customer service. Significant accomplishments include: .:. coordinator of the Springbrook User Group for the Midwest .:. awarded a scholarship to the Springbrook Annual Conference .:. participated in the comprehensive review of all employee benefits and updated personnel files and payroll files .:. served as back-up during periods of change for the administrative support .:. assisted in the 2008 elections process It is my honor to announce the 2008 City of Arden Hills Employee of the Year: .
