RESOLUTION NO.2009-026
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Minnesota Metropolitan Land Planning Act the City prepared a
2030 Comprehensive Plan update in accordance with the System Statement dated September 12,
ZOOS, and the amended population, household, and employment forecasts that were approved by the
Metropolitan Council on March 25, 2008.
WHEREAS, the City held three community involvement meetings and numerous public
meetings with the Planning Commission; Parks, Trails, and Recreation Committee; Economic
Development Commission; and the City Council to prepare the Plan.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on July 2, 2008, to receive
public comments prior to releasing the draft 2030 Comprehensive Plan for review by adjacent
j urisdictions.
WHEREAS, on July 14, 2008, the City Council authorized releasing the draft 2030
Comprehensive Plan for comment to adjacent jurisdictions, which include: the Cities of Mounds
View, New Brighton, Roseville, and Shoreview; Ramsey County; the Minnesota Department of
Transportation; the Rice Creek Watershed District; the Mounds View School District, and the
Roseville School District.
WHEREAS, on December 15, 2008, the City Council accepted the comments from the
adjacent jurisdictions, gave preliminary approval to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, and authorized its
submission to the Metropolitan Council.
WHEREAS, on August 12, 2009, the Metropolitan Council provided comments to the City
of Arden Hills and found that the Arden Hills 2030 Comprehensive Plan meets all Metropolitan Land
Planning Act requirements; conforms to the regional system plans for transportation, including

aviation, water resources management, and parks; is consistent with the 2030 Regional Development
Framework, and is compatible with the plans of adjacent jurisdictions.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The City of Arden Hills has hereby completed and
approved its 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN LS THIS 8TH DAY
OF SEPTEMBER 2009.
