MEMORANDUM
DATE: December 21, 2009
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
Ron Moorse, City Administrator
FROM: Greg Hoag, Public Works Director
SUBJECT: Resignation of Public Works Maintenance Employee Todd Hansen
Background
On December 151, 2009, Public Works Maintenance employee Todd Hansen submitted
the attached letter of resignation effective December 30, 2009. Todd was hired by the
City in March of this year. Todd came to us from the Mounds View School District
where he had been a maintenance employee for twenty years.
Due to a retirement, the Mounds View School District had a management position
become available. Todd has been selected to take this position.
Todd while here only for a short time has been a valuable employee in our Public Works
Department. Todd will be missed, however we will still have the opportunity to work
with him as his new office will still be in the Joint Partners maintenance facility.
Recommendation
It is recommended that Council accept the resignation of Public Works Maintenance
employee Todd Hansen, effective December 30, 2009, and to authorize staff to begin the
recruitment and hiring process to fill his position.
Council Action Requested
Motion to accept the resignation of Public Works Maintenance employee Todd Hansen,
effective December 301, 2009, and to authorize staff to begin the recruitment and hiring
process to fill his position.

To Whom. It May Concern:
This letter is to give you my two week notice to terminate employment at the City of Arden Hills. My
last day of work will be December 30, 2009. I have been offered a management position at the
Mounds View Public Schools where I had been previously employed for the past 20 years.
I have enjoyed my employment with the City of Arden Hills, but this is an opportunity that I must take
advantage of. Although my employment here has been short, it has been a very positive experience.
Sincerely,
I
Tod H. Hansen
