SUBJECT: Commission and Committee Appointments — Resolution 2010-003
Back�round
In March 2007, the City Council approved an ordinance amendment setting three year
staggered terms for the members of the various commissions and committees (Section
220 and its subdivisions of the City Code.) At the beginning of 2008, each member of
the committees and. commissions was assigned an expiration date for their term in order
to implement the three ,year staggered term system. As part of that ordi�ance change, it is
no longer necessary to annually appoint all members of each commission and committee.
Therefore, Resolution 2010-003 only lists new appointees, replacement appointees, and
reappointments of existing members. In order to maintain the staggered term system, the
replacement appointees will have shortened terms that complete the term of the vacated
seat. The term expiration date is listed after each name.
Requested Action
Motion to approve Resolution 2010-003 relating to commission and committee
appointments.

'�VHEREAS, the City Council annuall� �.ppoints residents to serve in an advisory
capac�ty to the Ci�y Council regarding planning and zoning issues o� the P�a�ni�g
Commission;
WH�I2EAS, the City Councii annually appoints rnembers to serve in an advisory
capacity to t�e City Council regardir�g the development a�d r�developrr�ent in of the City
of Arden H�lls on the �conomic Deve�opment Commiss�on;
WHEREAS, the City Coun�il annually appoir�ts me�bers to serve in an adv�so�-y
capac�ty to the City Council regarding parks, trails ar�d recreation issues on the Par�s,
Trails, and �Zecreatior� Con�mittee;
WHEREAS, the City Council annually appoints residents to se�-ve in an advisory
capac�ty to the City Counci� regarding com�unicai�ons and newsletters on tl�e
Comn�unications Committe�;
�'HEREFORE, BE IT R.E�OLVED The Arden Hills City Council appoints or
�eap�olnts the fol�owing people to serve on the following commissions and committees
with terms ending as noted by tl�e name:
