EN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: January 25, 2010 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members FROM: Sue Iverson, Acting City Administrator Finance Director/Treasurer SUBJECT: City Council Pay Schedule Back�round Previously the City Council had adopted a resolution to receive salary payment on a quarterly basis until such time as the Council determined they want to be paid in another regularly scheduled basis. At the January 19, 2010 worksession, the City Council directed staff to bring forth a resolution to change the pay schedule to either quarterly or annually in June. If the elected official chooses the annual June payment, they would then be required to repay any unearned portion if they did not finish out their term. Council Action A motion to adopt Resolution 2010-006, a resolution determining the timing of salary payment for the Mayor and City Council. City Council Meeting \�1Vletro-inet\ardenhills�Admin\Council�Agendas & Packet Information\2010\01-25-10 Regular�.Packet Information\Council Pay Schedule.doc Page 1 of 1 I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF R.AMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2010-006 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE TIMING OF SALARY PAYMENT FOR THE MAYOR AND CITY CUUNCIL WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council are authorized to receive compensation as per Ordinance #3 86, Section 210.02, Subd. 1; and 210.02, Subd. 2. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Arden Hills will be paid the amounts specified in Ordinance #3 86, Section 210.02, Subd. 1; and 210.02, Subd. 2; either, 1. on a quarterly b asi s, or 2. annually in June with the stipulation that any unearned amount be reimbursed to the City if the elected official does not serve the entire term, until such time that the Mayor and City Council determine that they want to be paid on another regularly scheduled basis.
