TO: Honorable Mayor and Council Members <br />FROM: Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: 2010 General Election — Canvassing <br />DATE: November 10, 2010 <br />The City had a fabulous turnout at the polls on election day, with 1,633 regular ballots <br />and 56 absentee ballots being tallied. At 7-00 a.m. we had 2,317 registered voters, <br />Throughout the day we registered 153 new, name or address change voters. <br />The results for municipal election are as follows: <br />Mayoral Seat (2 year term) <br />Thomas Wilharber received 1,060 in-person votes, 38 absentee votes; total of <br />1,098 votes <br />Mary Capra received 482 in-person votes, 19 absentee votes; total of 501 votes <br />Write-ins received 6 in-person votes <br />Blank Votes received 85 in-person votes, 2 absentee votes; total of 87 votes <br />Over Votes and - under votes received 0 <br />Council Seats-2 (4 year term) <br />D. Love received 775 in-person votes, 28 absentee votes; total of 803 votes <br />Steve King received 759 in- person votes, 32 absentee votes; total of 791 votes <br />Matthew Montain received 633 in-person votes, 33 absentee votes; total of 666 <br />votes <br />Write-in received 17 in-person votes, I absentee vote; total of 18 votes <br />Blank Votes received 266 in-person votes, 4 absentee votes; total of 270 votes <br />Under Votes received 550 in-person votes, l6 absentee votes; total of 566 <br />Over Votes received 0 <br />Per Minnesota Statue 2040.33 and 205.185 the City Council acts as the canvassing board <br />for their municipal election to examine and to declare the results.
