<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br /> <br />November 12, 2008 <br />Commission, pursuant to meeting requirements of Ordinance and Policy set forth by <br />the City of Centerville. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br />1. City Administrator, Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> <br />a. Special Recognition of Election Judges/Public Works Staff/St. Genevieve’s <br />Staff & the Public <br /> <br /> City Administrator Larson reported that the Election went very well, and the Judges <br />did a fine job. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Lee stated that he heard one complaint that the lines were chaotic <br />at 7 a.m. He suggested that for future elections the lines be better organized. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that City Clerk Teresa Bender did an outstanding job <br />organizing the Election. There was a great turnout of both registered and new <br />registrants. Mayor Capra stated that she would like to thank City Clerk Bender and <br />the Staff. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that they would also be sending thank you letters <br />to the Judges involved and to St. Genevieve’s for sharing their facilities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that he would like to thank the people of Centerville <br />also. He stated that Centerville’s percentage of voter turnout was the highest in the <br />State and possibly the highest nationally as well. <br /> <br /> b. Lighting Ceremony for the Downtown Area <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the City would like to have a lighting <br />ceremony for the downtown area following the completion of the light fixtures on <br />the south side of Main Street. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz stated that electrical contractors have been busy working on <br />what they need to get done before the ground freezes, but should be back on this <br />project soon. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the electrical contractors believe they will be <br />complete with the project around Thanksgiving. He added that the Staff will try to <br />pin that down to a specific date. However, they do not want to have a date they <br />cannot meet. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that dignitaries from the County should be considered for <br />participation in this event <br /> <br />Page 8 of 10 <br /> <br />
