MEMO
TO: Parks & Recreation Committee
FROM: Kim Stephan
DATE: December 29, 2011
SUBJECT: Music in the Park
Music in the Parks
A few options for 2011 Music in the Park follow:
THE RIVERSIDE SWING BAND
I emailed the following correspondence from Mr. Kyle Tennis to the committee for consideration:
Good afternoon Kim! I'm not sure exactly if you're the right person to get in touch with, but I'm looking for
some info on the Centerville's summer music series. I manage a great swing band (The Riverside Swing
Band) that loves playing city fairs, festivals and arts in the park series. Can you possibly help me out by
pointing me in the right direction? Thanks for your time!
Kyle Tennis
TheRiversideSwingBand (&am ail. com
651.325.8435
www.riversideswingband.com
Dec 13, 2010 at 3:31 PM, Kim Stephan wrote:
Hi Kyle. I am the Staff Liaison to the Parks & Recreation Committee who organizes the event. This will be
our 3rd year. We don't have a huge budget, but we are buying a PA system this year hopefully to attract
bands for a lesser fee knowing they can use our equipment instead of hauling their own. We had 6 events
last summer in one of our parks on the lake. What is your fee? We could start there? If you provide the PA, and the concerts are on Tuesday nights
(which I believe they are), then you are correct in that the fee is less. Assuming that the concert is two hours
or less, we'd contract out for $500. If it's a different day of the week or we have to bring our PA, we'd have to
renegotiate. Take a look at our website to hear some audio clips and let me know what you think. Have a
great night! Kyle
