a <br /> 1 � <br /> TO: Honorable Chairperson & Committee Members <br /> FROM: Staff <br /> SUBJECT: Reserve /Rental of Local Parks <br /> DATE: May 16, 2011 <br /> Has the Parks & Recreation Committee considered a user fee /rental /reservation fee for <br /> local parks? <br /> Recently, we received a telephone call regarding a request to reserve Hidden Spring Park <br /> for an upcoming wedding. <br /> Staff explained that it was a first come first serve usage and if the desired they would <br /> need to arrive early to reserve it. <br /> Some investigation was completed on Staff's part to survey surrounding communities' <br /> usage policies and they are as follows: <br /> Hugo <br /> No alcohol in park <br /> Reserve pavilions for $5 <br /> Lino Lakes <br /> No alcohol in park <br /> Non - resident - $25.00 <br /> Less than 30 individuals (parks restraints) <br /> A minimal fee would offset the additional electricity, clean up, maintenance of the park <br /> and rubbish collection. <br />
