Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes 05 -04 -11 <br /> and order the equipment in the next month. <br /> Once all the equipment has been delivered Mr. Lee will have a practice session at the park with his band <br /> so all the committee members can become familiar with using the equipment while there is a live <br /> performance. <br /> Committee Member Amundsen suggested a canopy to protect the equipment. Mr. Lee stated the City <br /> already owns one that was purchased for the parade a few years ago. <br /> IV. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> April 6, 2011 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> Chairperson Branch requested making an addition to the following sentence on page 4 of 8 clarifying <br /> Committee Member Seeley was speaking of Mill Road `Committee Member Seeley expressed concern <br /> over taking mature trees down along Mill Road for the trail project, but Mr. Palzer stated that has <br /> already been determined by the plan.' <br /> Mr. Dallas Larson corrected `A plague at the base of the flag pole' to a `plaque' and also asked to clarify <br /> on page 3 of 8 under the Trail Project that the steel grates were being installed to drain yards under the <br /> trail to the ditch. <br /> Committee Member Seeley requested changing the word `contact' for `contract' on page 5 of 8 under <br /> Music in the Parks. Committee Member Seeley also requested changing the year from 2001 to 2011 on <br /> page 5 of 8 under Potential Eagle Scout Project. <br /> Committee Member Amundsen asked to include House Sparrows following Starlings on page 7 of 8 <br /> under Bluebird House Update. <br /> Motion was made by Committee Member Amundsen, seconded by Committee Member Haiden to <br /> approve the April 6, 2011 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes with the above <br /> corrections. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> V. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> Eagle Scout Flag Proiect <br /> This item was discussed under Appearances. <br /> Change in Budget Line Expense Reporting <br /> Chairperson Branch updated the committee on a discussion he had with Mr. Mike Jeziorski, Finance <br /> Director regarding a recent monthly financial statement which showed the 8K Run line item as spending <br /> 113% of the budgeted amount for 2011. The $1,500 spent for the PA System was included in this line <br /> item and Chairperson Branch's concern was that it was misleading to the lay person and at the end of the <br /> year the 8K Run would show as 200% appearing the run was over budget, when it was not. This brings <br /> up too many questions and does not give Parks & Recreation the ability to watch their budget. This was <br /> resolved by Mr. Jeziorski setting up a revenue reserve account and reserve expense account for Parks & <br /> 3 of 5 <br />
