We at Connexus Energy think it is a great way to market
available properties and get an edge in promoting economic development in our area.
Shovel ready generally indicates a site has gone through all the planning, zoning surveys,
environmental studies, title work, soils analysis and public infrastructure engineering.
All the things that would be done anyway but now done up front to make the property more
desirable and ready to go now. The cost of certifying a project through DEED is $2,950
and that cost would be refunded by Connexus Energy for qualifying projects. We will be
rebating two projects this year with a good chance of expanding the program into next year
as weii. The requiremenis are;
• The rebate is for projects certified in 2011
• The site has to be served by Connexus Energy
• Preference will be given to sites based on job creation potential and energy
intensity
I hope we get a chance to work with you! Please let me know if you have any questions.
1
23
