OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Xcel Energy Franchise Ordinance � Tabled From Previous Meeting <br /> City Attorney Glaser requested that this item be tabled to the next meeting due to a lack <br /> of response from Xcel Energy. <br /> VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Res. #11-012 — Support for H.R. 1746, Community Access Preservation Act <br /> City Administrator Larson briefly reviewed the aspects of the bill along with City <br /> Attorney Glaser. Attorney Glaser recommended Council's support of the resolution and <br /> stated the significance of informing the FCC of the ramifications of their desire to <br /> regulate/or not, PEG (Public, Educational & Government) Access and the impacts that it <br /> would have on communities. <br /> Motion bv Council Member Fehbrenbacher. seconded bv Council Member King <br /> to approve Res. #11-012 as nresented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> 2. Consider Turning Off Part of the Downtown Street Lighting <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that he requested that this item be placed before Council for <br /> discussion. Mayor Wilharber suggested that with the delay in the Downtown <br /> Redevelopment Project, all of the downtown lighting was unnecessary and a potentially <br /> small savings for the City if every other light were not utilized. Discussion ensued <br /> regarding current operation, public safety, the necessity of lighting, cost effectiveness, <br /> appropriate staggering and the concern for wear on the infrastructure. Consensus of the <br /> Council was to direct Staff to request in put from the Police Department prior to making <br /> the decision. <br /> Motion bv Council Member Love and seconded to Paar to table this item to next <br /> meeting allowing amnle time to obtain nublic safetv information. All in favor. <br /> Motion passed unanimouslv. <br /> 3. Anoka County Parks & Recreation Request for Reduced Sanitary Sewer <br /> Availability Fees Associated w/Campground Facilities <br /> Previously discussed. <br /> 4.
