I <br /> I Reservation of City Parks and Park Facilities � Chairperson Pat Branch <br /> 1. Purpose: <br /> When approved by the City Council, this policy statement will govern the exclusive use <br /> of City of Centerville Parks, and park facilities by private parties. This paper is <br /> preliminary in nature. This pending policy has not been presented to the City Council <br /> for consideration and is open for discussion by the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> The intended purpose of this paper is to focus Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> discussion. This paper will be updated after committee discussions as a means of <br /> recording that discussion. Nothing in this paper should be viewed as a decision or <br /> recommendation. Decisions are made at City Council and recorded in their minutes. <br /> 2. Current Policy: <br /> The current city policy is that all park facilities are open and available to Centerville <br /> residents on a first come first serve basis. There is no resenration policy in place for <br /> individuals. <br /> Organizations, such as the Lions Club and youth sports clubs, do reserve parks and <br /> athletic �elds by requesting a Speciat Use Permit. The City Council is the approving <br /> authority for Special Use Permits. <br /> 3. Definitions: '' <br /> A. Private Parties as used here includes, Centerville residents, non-residents of the city <br /> and private organizations (Lions, Centennial Hockey, Boy Scouts, etc.) <br /> 4. Special Use Permits: <br /> A. The Special Use Permit forms will be use to request the use of City parks and <br /> park facilities. <br /> B. The Special Use Permit form can be used by individual residents or by civic <br /> organizations <br /> C. The Special Use Permit may be modified to meet the need of the requester. <br /> Sections that do not apply for a given occurrence may be omitted. <br /> 5. Reservation System: <br /> A. Organizations/C(ubs may reserve a full or partial park or an athletic field for either <br /> single date or for a series of dates. <br /> B. Fees for the use of the park, park facility, or athletic field may be waived by the City <br /> Council. <br /> C. Request will be made via the Special Use Permit Request form. <br />
