Alexandria House <br /> Mayor Wilharber briefed the public on the Alexander House which is a 24 -hour nonprofit <br /> temporary service for battered women. Mayor Wilharber read aloud a letter from the Alexandria <br /> House requesting applications for a board member. Mayor Wilharber suggested interested <br /> persons contact City Hall prior to the December 1, 1997. <br /> Cable Meeting October 10. 1997 <br /> Mayor Wilharber noted receipt of an invitation to the December 10 Cable Commission meeting. <br /> Christmas Help <br /> Ms. Gaustad briefed the Council on the holiday help offered by the Centennial Fire Department. <br /> In addition Ms. Gaustad explained her involvement the past year and felt the program contributed <br /> to the community. Ms. Gaustad requested consideration to allow Centerville City Hall be a drop <br /> off location for "Toys for Joy." <br /> MOTION by Councilmember Brenner to authorize City Hall to be a drop off location for <br /> holiday gifts. Motion seconded by Councilmember Powers. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> EDC Committee Report <br /> Councilmember Brenner reported EDC plans to submit information to the Minnesota Design <br /> Team by January 15, 1998. <br /> Councilmember Brenner reported EDC discussed broadcasting the EDC meetings which resulted <br /> in a unanimous motion against broadcasting the meetings. However, EDC suggested putting the <br /> agenda on the cable channel. Mr. March reported the Park and Recreation Committee did not <br /> oppose broadcasting their meetings. <br /> Councilmember Brenner reported at the next EDC meeting the Committee members will be <br /> considering Business and Citizen persons of the year. <br /> Mayor Wilharber announced the Chairman of the Police Commission vacancy and requested <br /> interested persons contact City Hall. <br /> ADMINISTRATORS REPORT <br /> Mr. March reported last year City Hall was closed the day after Thanksgiving. However, this <br /> year City Hall will be opened until 3:00 p.m. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 1. Resolution 97 -02 *Amended <br /> 2.
