AGREEMENT FOR LAW ENFORCM43N'T SERVICES <br /> This agreement is made and entered into by and between the <br /> cities of Lexirgtcr. and Circle Pines acting Jointly as described <br /> herein, hereinafter CITIES; and the City of Centerville, <br /> hereinafter CENTERVILL.^�., all rartiea being municipal corporetions <br /> under the laws of the State of Minnesota: <br /> Rn .TT L'q <br /> 1, The CITIES have formed a joint mur.iciYal pclice <br /> department (hereinafter, the Department) vender the provisicra cf <br /> h.S. 436.06 by a Joint Powers Agreement dated June 5, 1975. By <br /> the germs of that agreement, the CITIES established a Board of <br /> Aolice Commissioners to control and supervise the administration <br /> o£ the Joint department under and pursuant tc M.S. 436.06(2). <br /> 2. CENTERVILLE desires to contract with the CITIES for law <br /> enforcement services in that city, pursuant to tS.S. 436.05. <br /> 3. The CITIES agree to provide such law enforcement <br /> services as pr ovided below. <br /> NOW TFZREFORE, in consideraticn of the above recitals and <br /> the covenants, obligations and benefits set forth below, the <br /> parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> 1. Pstrpa, The purpose cf this agreement is tc provide <br /> to CEITFR'TiL *.r those law enforcement services presently available <br /> through and rrovided to the CITIES by the Department. <br /> 2, Law >nfmr - mmnr. t ry+ The services hereby extended <br /> to CENTERVILLE shall he delivered by and through peace officers <br /> c£ the Department and shall encompass and extend to those <br /> services now or in the future exercised by said peace offioere in <br /> the CITIES, including but not limited to the enforcement of lawn <br /> now or hereafter contained in Minnesota state Etatutes. <br /> CENTERVILLE shall deliver to the Department certified copies <br /> of any and all CENTERVILLE ordinances which may require <br /> enforcement by the peace officers and within 15 days of the <br /> adoptio: thereof, certified copies of any amendment or repeal of, <br /> or any additions to said ordinances. As to any ordinance <br /> provieirn which is - to CENTERVILLE such as CENTERVILLE's <br /> zoning ordinance, building ecde, etc., peace officers performing <br /> under this agreement shall net issue citations or ooz;Laints <br /> until authorized by the CENTERVILLE sit; administrator, except to <br /> naintain the p-eace.
