CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1998 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held its <br /> rescheduled Council meeting on Monday, December 7, 1998, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Members: Theresa Brenner <br /> Sanna. Ruckbee <br /> Laura Powers (6:23 p.m.) <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> Ry -Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br /> Paul Palzer, Public Works Director/ Building Inspector <br /> Tom Peterson, City Engineer (Bonestroo) <br /> James Hoeft, City Attorney ( Barna, Stephen & Guzy) <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The Oath of Office - Mr. Terry Sweeney <br /> Ms. Gaustad administered the Oath of Office to Council member appointed Mr. Terry Sweeney, <br /> then he joined the Council (Mr. Sweeney has been appointed to fulfill Councilmember Mary Jo <br /> Helmbrecht's two year vacancy). <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> Truth in Taxation Hearing <br /> Mr. March gave a presentation on the proposed budget and its components. Mr. March noted the <br /> City received ten calls in regards to the taxes payable 1999. Furthermore, citizens should contact <br /> Anoka County if the value of a home is proposed to increase and the taxes reflect a higher <br /> premium. <br /> Mr. March explained the Centerville property tax bill is made up of <br /> 29 % City <br /> 21.7% County <br /> 44.3% School <br /> 4.9% Special - (Metro- Mosquito Control) <br /> I <br />
