Jim March; 10/8/98
City Administrator
City of Centerville
I submitted a proposal to the city on the 15th of September about a two -acre
parcel of land the city owns in the southeast portion of the city. I would like to
amend that proposal. My intention would be to lease the property from the city
for two years with an option for more, to run a redi -mix cement business on the
property. The city would be able to keep the land for their future development
and still receive revenue from the property. Looking at the trees on the property,
there would be no need to remove any large trees, but only remove some of the
brush within the center. At the removal of the business, there would be no
remaining remnants of the business, but a clearing inside the woods. I would
like to work with the city public works director to be sure this is done in an
acceptable manner. After talking to a couple of Realtors that deal in industrial
property, they were able to offer some advice on an equitable lease amount,
which would be in the area of eight thousand dollars per year. Also included as
a supplement to the lease payment, would be a twelve- percent reduction in the
price of concrete for city projects, based on the price charged by the local
suppliers.
If you feel this proposal could benefit the city, then I would like to meet with the
city attorney to work out terms and condi ions that would be agreeable to both
parties.
Sincerely,
Dennis Shudy
6795 20th Ave. S
Hugo, MN. 55038
