.,,imary and Recommendations <br /> The School Crossing /Gap Study indicates that adequate gaps in the traffic stream exist and that the <br /> percent of pedestrian delay time is at an acceptable level. No additional controls are recommended. <br /> The review and evaluation of existing traffic control devices has revealed several items not <br /> consistent with the manuals, policies, guidelines or operational practices used by this department. It <br /> is recommended that the courses of action listed in Table I of this report are carried out. <br /> The city or school district could consider the installation of school crossing flashers. However, <br /> because the warrants for additional controls at the crossing are not satisfied at this time, the <br /> construction and ongoing maintenance costs of these flashers would be the responsibility of the city <br /> and /or school district. <br /> Page 11 <br />
