City Council Meeting December 11, 1996
completed a county plan and the cost seems to be less per city than if each city veered out
on their own. Spring Lake Park received a quote between $20,000. - $30,000 to complete
a wellhead protection plan for their city. Anoka County is working with the majority of
the cities to complete a county wide wellhead protection plan. Gaustad continued,
Centerville would pay about 3% of the cost, whereas, the cities of Coon Rapids, Blaine
and .Anoka will pay the majority of the cost. Gaustad concluded, Anoka County Health
Department would like each interested city to enter into a joint powers agreement.
MOTION by Brenner, seconded by Powers- Rasmussen to enter into a joint powers
agreement with Anoka County. Motion carried unanimously.
March mentioned a liaison and an alternate person was needed for the wellhead protection
plan. March suggested Gaustad be the liaison and himself the alternate.
MOTION by Wilharber, seconded by Buckbee to appoint Ry -Chel as the Liaison and Jim
as the alternate.
