CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> FEBRUARY 5, 1997 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of <br /> Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on February 5, 1997. Meeting was <br /> called to order at 6:38 PM. Member present: Thompson, Navin, Johnson and <br /> Fogerty. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES• <br /> MOTION by Fogerty, seconded by Johnson to approve the January 8, 1997 Park and <br /> Recreation Minutes. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> APPEARAN E <br /> Jim March, City Clerk/Administrator update: <br /> • LaMotte Park purchased for $118,511.84. Deed is in hand. <br /> • Audit of'95 indicated: <br /> Park fund at $64,862.00 <br /> City has received $32,000 form Willow Glen for first payment. March covered the plat <br /> drawing of Lakeland Hills of 12/26/96. Upon review of the plat it appears that it is in the <br /> best interest of the City of Centerville to accept park dedication fees in lieu of Land. <br /> MOTION by Johnson, seconded by Fogerty to accept park dedication fees for Lakeland <br /> Hills in lieu of land. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> March also distributed a summary of park dedication fees. (See attached). <br /> Discussion on development of Laurie LaMotte Park expansion. P &R will approach the <br /> City Council to seek authorization to expend funds to determine grading plan of intended <br /> park development. Possible development to occur in '97. Please place P &R on the <br /> Council agenda in up coming weeks, prior to end of February. <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Laurie LaMotte Park - See above <br /> 2. 1997 Budget & 1996 withdrawn funds - Tabled until more information is available. <br />
