ADMINISTRATIVE /PLANNING INTERNSHIP. Six month internship <br /> available with the rapidly growing City of Centerville. Various <br /> projects available that offer a wide range of job experiences. <br /> Intern will work directly with City Administrator and staff. <br /> Substantial completion of Bachelor's Degree in related field <br /> required. Preference given to individuals with local government <br /> experience or working towards a Master's Degree in Urban Studies, <br /> Public Administration or related field. Salary is $10 per hour. <br /> Flexible scheduling will be considered. Send resume with <br /> references to: Jim March, City Administrator, 1880 Main Street, <br /> Centerville, MN 55038. Materials must be received by April 4, <br /> 1997. <br /> Will place ad in LMC Bulletin, send to Mankato State, Hamline and <br /> the Humphrey Institute <br /> Interns are generally extremely valuable assets. The intern is <br /> looking to work on projects that will build their resumes and <br /> establish a related work reference for their future job hunting <br /> efforts. An intern would work in a temporary position for a <br /> specified period of time. <br /> Possible Projects <br /> 1) Research market information on Commercial and Industrial <br /> property and send letters to select potential needed business <br /> developers <br /> 2) Assist in codifying ordinances <br /> 3) Conduct research on downtown revitalization <br /> 4) Assist in report preparation for Inflow /Infiltration study <br /> 5) Study grant opportunities for park development <br /> 6) Research the Capital Improvement Plan financial impact for <br /> future budgeting efforts <br /> 7) Assist in efforts to have zoning ordinance be consistent with <br /> comprehensive plan <br /> 8) Research possible joint uses for a public works building <br /> 9) Research area per capita expenditures for police protection <br /> and potential costs for new department start -up <br />
