WEEK = N REV = EW <br /> Edition # 20 6 -16 -97 through 6 -20 -97 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> Building permits issued this week = 7 <br /> Building permits issued YTD = 66 <br /> * 35 of the above permits are for new single family units <br /> * The Park and Recreation Committee is holding a public hearing <br /> on the concept design of the LaMotte Park layout on Tuesday, <br /> June 24 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> * I had a meeting with Barry Bernstein on Monday (Lino Lakes <br /> Park and Rec. Supervisor) in regards to joint programming <br /> arrangements for park and recreation services. We should have <br /> a proposal to discuss from Lino Lakes in the near future. <br /> Circle Pines has worked out an arrangement for these services <br /> provided by Lino Lakes and we could develop a similar <br /> agreement. The cost would be virtually the same as we were <br /> contributing to North Metro Recreation. <br /> * Sid I nman and Carolyn Drude were here on Thursday afternoon to <br /> discuss some concerns with the structuring of tax increment <br /> financing district #1 -4. A representative of the firm will be <br /> present at the next council meeting to discuss the details and <br /> reasons for decertifying the unoccupied parcels in this <br /> district. <br /> * Lakeland Hills is starting to make progress. Royal Oaks <br /> Realty has applied for a grading permit and has begun clearing <br /> and grubbing in the areas to be graded. They should be <br /> requesting final plat approval in the near future. <br /> * Gerald Rehbein stopped in on Thursday afternoon to discuss his <br /> proposed layout of his commercial property south of the Willow <br /> Glen townhomes. He would like to be scheduled at the next <br /> available planning and zoning meeting. He has several <br /> commercial businesses interested in the lots. Some of the <br /> businesses already have options on the property. Be prepared <br /> for a busy fall season. <br /> * The downtown revitalization informational meeting was very <br /> interesting. The process to change or upgrade the area will <br /> be an on -going process. The process can begin with one <br /> property owner willing to make an investment in the area. <br /> Kelly's Corner is looking to make some major changes. If the <br /> project is feasible, tax increment assistance in the form of a <br /> redevelopment district may be requested. <br />
